How to make: Zosui, which is a rice gruel that is often eaten when you are feeling unwell. It is easy to make and good for you! Let’s try it out!
Ingredients (1 serving):
- Rice (cooked) 120g
- Egg 1
- Water 300ml
- (A) White dashi 1/2 tablespoon
- (A) Usukuchi soy sauce 1 teaspoon
- (A) Mirin 1 teaspoon Green onion (finely chopped) As needed
Steps
- Crack the egg into a bowl and beat it.
- In a pot, heat water and (A) over medium heat. Once it boils, add the rice and continue heating.
- When it boils, reduce the heat to low and cook for about 5 minutes until the rice softens. Then, return to medium heat and slowly pour in the beaten egg.
- Stir everything together over medium heat. Once the egg solidifies, turn off the heat.
- Serve in a dish, sprinkle with chopped green onions, and it’s ready to eat.
